November 2025 Summary

Another month goes by, another summary follows. The podcast, books and other media I enjoyed during November!

Oh man, the year is basically over, I’ll be writing my yearly summaries for my favorites of the year pretty soon, and I have no idea of how to deal with how fast the year has gone already.

November was a pretty interesting month, I barely watched movies, I barely read books, I really can’t tell how my mood shifts in such a way, to think I watched so many movie franchises, or how I made so much progress in book series as well such as Murderbot in the past.

As always, there’s a cycle to these things, one day I’ll be into Silksong all day long, another I’ll be flying through the pages of an Expanse novel, or maybe I’ll be reading a whole manga series in a day, or deep into portable gaming and Ridge Racer.

Podcasts

My time listening to podcasts rose up a bit after the last month’s lowest listened time in a while. I guess the time split between music or podcasts is starting to balance out, or something.

  • Into The Aether - Same old same old, listening to all the episodes, to Any% and the new Shore Leave non-gaming focused monthly podcast!
  • Revolutions - Still going through the French Revolution, I finally got to the part where Napoleon shows up, and things are getting kinda interesting!
  • Trash Taste - Catched up with some cool episodes, they rated their friends’ favorite anime/movies/etc, and compared life in 2005 vs 2025, fun banter.
  • Retro Game Time Machine - Their episode on Metal Slug and Super Mario 3D World was kinda cool!
  • Wolf 359 - Still going strong on my relisten of this sci-fi drama, currently on episode 36, and it continues to just be great! Go ahead and check it out already.

Gaming

If there is one thing that can be said about this month, is that videogames were played, and a huge variety of them! Here’s the list for you to check out!

Completed

  • Streets of Rage 4 - Finished this in one sitting with friends, and have played here or there solo too, wanna get good at it and try Roguelike too. I already wrote a review for it too! So check it out!

Ongoing

  • The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy - Got a few really good sessions of this game, I’ve completed a few endings and routes and it has been such an incredible experience to return to!
  • CrossCode - Amin was nagging me about starting this game once and for all, and it’s been quite fun! I keep on being a little mixed for some reason, but it’s weird because once I get into it I really like it!
  • Hollow Knight: Silksong - I didn’t play this much at all, I really should hyperfocus on it, as it’s the one game where I could have reached credits already!
  • TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge - Another fantastic Beat’em Up I returned to, played a bunch of the stages a few times and begun a new run with friends in hard difficulty.
  • Super Mario 3D World - Played this a few times throughout the month, it’s so chaotic and fun and we keep losing lives, but hey, we complete the levels in the end so it’s okay.
  • Nintendo Switch Sports - A single session where we played golf, bowling and volleyball, it was intense!
  • Mario vs Donkey Kong - The game I bring with me everywhere (on my Anbernic SP), it’s always fun when I get into it!
  • Astro Boy: Omega Factor - Played this for a day too, progressing through the last stage to see how the story evolves!
  • **Monster Hunter Rise ** - A single hunt of a High Rank Rathian, I kinda forgot how the controls worked, but I won.
  • Slice & Dice - Some fun moments like a racing match and some regular runs I haven’t won, tried Heaven mode and it’s fun too!
  • Spelunky - A single session in local multiplayer, absolute chaos, someday I want to properly git gud at this game, tbh.
  • Ridge Racer 2 - I returned to this on my PSP since I felt like trying to beat all the courses the game, but the races have gotten really difficult! I’ll still try.
  • Streets of Rage 2 - One session by myself that I actually really enjoyed, I should finish it quickly one of these days.
  • Streets of Rage - A single attempt of this with a friend as well, it’s the first one, not the best, but it sparked it all.
  • Super Smash Bros Ultimate - Finally played some Smash Bros again, this was fun but I kinda want to play more.
  • World of Goo - I played some levels with a friend and we had some fun! Only for a short while though.
  • Ultimate Chicken Horse - Fun time with friends, it’s a party game!

Movies

I only watched one movie this month, and that was Predator: Badlands! I have to admit I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

That was the only time we went to the movies, and I didn’t pay attention to any of the stuff my family watched so, yeah, pretty empty section this month, weird.

TV Shows

I can’t recall anything too significant here either, not anime nor regular shows. Except maybe bringing up that my dad finished watching Criminal Minds recently, just like he finished Star Trek TOS and TNG a year or more ago. Again, I wasn’t paying attention to every single episode, but definitely to many bits and pieces!

Oh right, also watched a bit of George & Mandy, the spin-off of Young Sheldon, which is a spin-off of The Big Bang Theory, which I haven’t watched :P

Books

Reading was pretty bad too. Normal books I pretty much ignored this time around, I guess the colder season affected me or something (just excuses).

  • Exit Strategy by Martha Wells - I barely started this book, can’t believe it has taken me so much, I feel kinda bad, but it’s no big deal either. I’ll have to step up my reading game.

Manga

At least my craving for some Manga to read has been kicking up lately, it’s been awesome to catch up on many series I was following, and to even complete something for once!

Completed

  • Ariadne in the Blue Sky - An incredible manga set in a fantasy world where our protagonists, a kid turned weapon of destruction, and a young princess from a floating kingdom, embark on a journey around the world to see everything it has to offer, many tribes and nations, a mystery to uncover and danger wherever they go. This story was amazing and I highly enjoyed it!

  • Erased - A fantastic mystery manga, a sort of detective story with a time travel twist where the protagonist goes back 18 years into the past to stop a serial killer back then, and change his future as well! The reveals, the plot twists, it’s a fantastic work and it even has a bit of that coming-of-age feel to it as well. Good stuff.

Ongoing

  • Komi Can’t Communicate - Only 30 or so chapters left until I finish! This was the first manga I actually read and I wonder how it’ll be to be done with it, so much has happened, the characters have gone through so much and I am honestly quite interested to so how everything ends.
  • Spy x Family - Up to 122. I returned to this great series this month, and I had a great time! We’ve been exploring some new characters that are opening up the way to some interesting backstories and developments.
  • Sakamoto Days - Up to 227. Still going strong, decided to catch up a little bit. I feel like it has gotten a little weird as it’s pretty clear nobody is in danger for the time being despite how impossible the odds are.
  • Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End - Up to 142. Now this is kind of thrilling, I’ve read the development of the latest arc where our protagonists act as bodyguards agaist some terrorist attack, and seeing how this develops has be biting my nails.
  • Blue Lock - Up to 325. Just got back into this as well, catched up and eagerly waiting for the match against a pretty difficult team, France, or England.
  • Chainsaw Man - Up to 220. Just as crazy and insane as ever, can’t look away from this beautiful disaster. But really, how is it so good?

Device Usage

Honestly, like last month, my phone app tracking hasn’t been working that well. I think it’s due to me moving some apps to the work profile, so they dissapear from the main phone app list and ActivityWatch can’t really track them. I have Activity Watch running in both the Work and Default profile, but I think that since it’s a sort of background server thing, there can’t be two instances of it on the same device and IP port. I might be able to modify this, but didn’t do so this month so, yeah.

Laptop saw a lot of use due to my theme creation shenanigans as well, but other than that not much!

Finishing thoughts

December is upon us, it’s already late by the time I’m writing and posting this summary, and I haven’t even written my weeknotes yet.

I don’t care, I’ll backdate this anyway because it’s fine, it’s my blog and I do whatever I want with it! I really hope I have the time to complete some of the goals I had this year, especially the amount of books read and the amount of games I played.

For now, I don’t have too much else to add, enjoy December, enjoy the season! The cold and the food and the warm blankets!
