Oh wow this week was quite eventful, I must say. Again, because of Blaugust, I don’t have a lot of new stuff to write about, but I think it’ll be fun to go through these regardless.
- 🤓 My new eyeglasses are in my possession! Literally nobody has noticed that I’ve swapped them out, which should tell you how similar they are to my previous ones. I’ll update the blogpost I did about every pair of glasses I’ve owned soon!
- 🛍️ Months ago, when I finished 1000xRESIST and simply loved the game, I ended up buying the original soundtrack pretty much immediately. However, I also ordered a shirt from the merch collection. It finally showed up, and it fit me well, so I am very happy to support this game. Highly recommended.
- 🔗 I added and created some new 88x31 buttons to my website! For fellow bloggers, to projects and clubs, so I wrote about it yesterday.
- 🏋️ I went to the gym! I plan to continue this more constantly from now on, I have my goal set and I am going to go towards it!
- 🎙️ Ended up listening to the whole PSP episode from Into the Aether, but I’ve also kept listening to Wolf 359, the first podcast I tried back in 2021. I had forgotten so many things it’s pretty much a fresh start, and it’s great.
- 🧑💻 I recently updated my origami page to use flexbox instead of the table I had before. The origami section is special because it’s a Jekyll collection and you can access a separate page for each model. Because of this, I’m thinking about creating a section for the videogames I’ve played, following the same format, and to update my bookshelf to be the same (I don’t know why I didn’t do it like that when I created it way after my origami page, anyway.
- 🤐 I participated in something that I want to keep secret for now, but I may or may not share it once it’s done, you’ll have to deal with the mystery for now
Watching
The thing this time is that I wanted to give Alien: Earth a watch. Right now, a new episode is coming out every week, and I thought I’d catch up on the Alien franchise after years without really paying much attention to it. Up until now, I had only watched the original Alien, Alien vs Predator, and Alien vs Predator 2. I somehow had never given the rest a go until this week.
- 👽🪖 Aliens - This movie was kind of awesome to watch even to this day. It’s definitely a deviation of the pure dread of the original, but I still really liked the action scenes on this one, I was locked in for the whole thing, what a fun movie.
- 👽3️⃣ Alien 3 - Everyone hates on it, and the start definitely lets me see why, it’s a bit of a bummer but at the same time, I miss the times when studios would dare to deviate so much and explore such random stories. Sequels today seem to be a bit too safe just to please the audience, this ain’t one of those, and I kinda respect it.
- 👽🌍 Alien: Earth - I wanted to wait for the whole thing to come out, but I ended up watching the first two episodes and I had a blast. I loved the aesthetics and the world. The plot seems to be quite crazy too, although there are some weird “Disney was here” moments. Don’t get me wrong, the horror and the action remain unscathed and aliens are just as terrifying as before.
Reading
Not a bad week when it comes to reading, especially because Ariadne is a very cool manga, I want to catch up more on my books though, I could’ve finished by now
- 🗺️ Ariadne in the Blue Sky - Up to chapter 42. Yep I read more than 30 chapters of this series, and I have to say, it’s pretty good! There is an ongoing mystery uncovering, as we keep exploring new corners of this world. I really enjoy the pacing thus far, there’s always something interesting happening. A couple new characters have showed up, and even though the design is umm, quite revealing for no real reason, I am pushing through to see how this story evolves.
- 🛰️ Nemesis Games - Up to chapter 36. Yep, that’s only one more chapter of progress, but I want to think all the manga reading helped balance it out. I can see it, the build-up paying off, and I hope everything turns out alright. Still wish I had made more progress honestly.
Gaming
There was quite a bit of gaming this weekend. I must admit I didn’t expect to return to some of these games at all, but such is the power of the TWG Discord server.
- 🛩️ Jet Lancer - I completed the game! This was a very fun journey. A really fast paced aerial combat shooter with an actually kinda interesting story, and awesome levels that got me in the zone almost immediately. Super fun, review coming soon.
- 🏫 The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy - I made some more progress, and the story has been developing in interesting ways. I am almost halway through this second playthrough, and I can’t even foresee how it’s going to end, so much has changed already!
- 🪖 Advanced Wars ✨ - I have many games to play on my Anbernic RG35XX SP but for some reason I felt like finally returning to this one. I am still not done with the tutorial levels at all, but I’m making progress.
- 🏎️ Ridge Racer 2 ✨ - I ended up returning to this gem of a game because of the podcast I’ve already linked to above, and I’ve completed some courses now. Will probably play more of it.

- Overscan is a Must-Read - I am yet to get this book delivered (pre-ordered it immediately) but here’s a review about it! (I haven’t read it either) or just buy the book.
- A New Site For Better Content Management - Chris is back on Wordpress after quite some time. I hope this means he can now focus on writing more!
- Changing my phone setup - Gotta love all the blogposts about digital minimalism and apps and phone customization, yes!
- Short Posts Are Great - Given how my last two blogposts are barely above 300 words, I am obliged to agree.

- App’s You’ll Actually Use - I don’t follow MKBHD much these days but I still really like this secondary channel where the whole crew just does cool stuff like this video!
- Why are all gaming handhelds huge now? - When will we get another handheld that is just the size of a PSP? Probably never, sad times.
- I Designed a Marble Run that Breaks Physics - I used to be really into Marble races and this video is absolutely insane and a must watch even if you aren’t into them at all.
- The Jesus Problem - This was a very fun and also informative video about the different views on the story of Jesus throughout the world.
