Thoughts on Blaugust 2026

Just a quick ramble and reflections on what happened during Blaugust!

Well, the month is over, and with that, Blaugust is gone as well! This is the second time I have participated on this challenge, and it has also lead to quite a lot of interesting interactions and a decent amount of posts.

To be honest, I was unable to reach the goal of 31 posts for the whole month. I wanted to give that a try and I even did two posts per day some times when I missed some previous days. However, as usual, some other matters got in the way! My siblings were visiting, my sister’s boyfriend was visiting, and I also had a few days of vacation which I decided to spend on other hobbies unrelated to writing.

As such, I ended up with a total of 19 blogposts for the whole month, one less than July which didn’t have an event tied to it! I basically wrote the usual, and well, that’s pretty good, although my pacing was all over the place, with some weeks much fuller than others and the like.

Not many people can afford to write in the same way I do, so I am content, even if it’s not a particularly impressive amount given my previous history.

Here is a quick list of some of my favorite moments and things that happened because of this event!

And here are some of the post ideas I am yet to draft or post, which didn’t make it in time for Blaugust!

  • A very long review about Outer Wilds.
  • A retelling of my second session GMing the Land of Eem TTRPG with friends
  • A post about the Max Steel franchise and its influence during my childhood
  • A post/reply inspired by Syl’s favorite game screenshots

I could share a bit more but I’d rather get working on them and publishing something more soon!

All in all, I now posses the Silver Award for Blaugust 2026! after publishing more than 15 posts during the month, and I can continue to write whatever I want as usual. Not like I ever stopped doing that, but still!

This is day 25 of #100DaysToOffload
